Abstract

ABSTRACT

Vibration energy harvesting for powering portable devices and sensors is more effective for nonlinear systems comparing to
linear solutions. It is due to a broader transfer frequency band. This effect is especially important for variable conditions of
ambient vibrations leading to improvements of energy transduction. In the presented system, nonlinearities are modeled through
clearance and impact interactions of an inverted elastic pendulum resonator. Mechanical energy of the moving frame is causing
pendulum beam deflection and is transformed to electrical voltage by a piezoelectric layer. Finally, the output power is
dissipated on the load resistor. We show the results of output power, voltage for various frame frequencies of kinematic
excitations.
